ART/LITERATURE XP
Art and literature is rewarded within the group on a per-horse basis. This means that any art done of the horse in question will count toward its xp, and any points earned will transfer with the horse when it is sold. In order to receive xp, the piece must be submitted to the proper channel on Discord.
If your submission includes another player's horse(s), please be sure to notify them when it's finished!

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS > We don't accept "stat farming" by using sloppy/rushed art to rack up xp. If we suspect you are trying to farm xp, the art will be declined.
> Tracing is acceptable only if the image used is properly-credited stock. Photomanips or art done on premade/reused lineart is not accepted. > Art must be colored in order to count for xp - we do not accept sketches or uncolored lineart. The palette can be greyscale or monochrome as long as it is still obviously recognizable as the horse in question. > If you choose to transfer a pre-existing design to Railbirds, old artwork and/or literature will not be counted for xp. > For multiple horses on a single background, you may choose a maximum of five to receive the background xp. |
LITERATURE REQUIREMENTS > Submissions should tell a clear story about the characters. You may write about your characters in a realistic fashion or anthropomorphize their behavior (dialogue between two horse characters, etc).
> Submissions should be in English (or include a translation!) and should utilize proper grammar to the best of your ability. > Word count is rounded to the nearest eligible increment; no half points are awarded. > If the literature submission is a compiled version of an RP, please include the word count for each participant separately, as xp is counted for the main character of each participant based on their own word count. |
Please include an xp breakdown with the point values that you feel are fair when submitting art and literature.
Keep in mind that additional points for things like shading, background complexity, etc. are intended to reward for additional effort and should be substantial! While we allow players to determine what their art should count as, the final decision is up to the evaluating admin.
If you feel your art was judged unfairly, please let us know.
